Help. When We Need It.
Compassionate, skilled, and experienced therapy for adults, youth, and couples.
FE Therapy

Frans offers virtual and in-person (in the Wetaskiwin area) counselling for adults, youth, and couples in Alberta. With training and experience in several ways of helping, and a decade of counselling experience, Frans works to empower his clients to create positive, lasting changes in their lives.
Frans is passionate about working with populations that have often been under-served in counselling. These populations include men, Indigenous populations (he has worked in Maskwacis for over a decade), and those from working class and military backgrounds.
His experiences working on Indigenous reserves, as a military reservist (infantry), oilfield and construction worker, and teacher all contribute to his ability to help people from these and similar backgrounds and to understand the unique pressures and factors these demographics sometimes face.
FAQs (frequently asked questions)
Please contact us below if you have a question not answered here!
How do I know if a counsellor/therapist will be a good fit for me?
Because a big part of change in therapy starts with the relationship, a good fit matters! Because we value your time and dollars, we offer a free 20 minute consultation to get a sense of your potential therapist. If you do not feel you fit within that time, we are more than happy to help find someone who might.
What kinds of things can we work on?
Frans works with clients to reduce the effects of anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, grief & loss, and family dynamics.
How much does therapy cost?
Most insurance providers cover FE Therapy services (Frans bills under his clinical supervisor, who is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta). We do not direct bill to insurance providers at this time. The cost for a 50 minute session is $150. A sliding scale is offered based on need.
How long will it take to see results from counselling sessions with FE Therapy?
The length of time it takes to see results from counselling sessions varies depending on the client and their goals. Some clients may see improvements after just a few sessions, while others may require longer-term therapy.
What qualifications do the therapists at FE Therapy have?
The therapists at FE Therapy are licensed professionals with advanced degrees in counseling or a related field. They have extensive training and experience working with individuals, couples, and families.
What age groups does FE Therapy provide counselling services for?
FE Therapy provides counselling services for adults, adolescents, and couples.
How and where does the counselling happen?
Currently, Frans is only seeing clients virtually and by phone. Although this type of counselling takes a session or two to get used to, the Jane platform that Frans uses provides a secure and effective way to do therapy. Virtual and phone services are available anywhere in Alberta.
I work during the day. Are sessions available after hours?
Yes! Currently Frans is seeing clients on weekends and evenings. Check here for available times.
